From Dead Zones to Deal Closers: How Chery Edenvale Got Connected

Chery Edenvale, a busy automotive dealership, relies heavily on constant, clear communication between staff and clients throughout the sales process. However, the dealership was plagued by poor cellular signal inside the building, leading to dropped calls and interrupted communication - a serious operational challenge that affected customer service and sales efficiency.

The Problem

Weak Indoor Cellular Signal

Inside the Chery Edenvale dealership, cellular connectivity was nearly non-existent. Staff routinely faced dropped calls, failed connection attempts, and poor voice clarity. This severely impacted the dealership’s day-to-day operations, particularly in their sales and service departments where fast, reliable communication with clients is critical. Sales representatives struggled to follow up with leads or provide updates to customers, while administrative staff often had to step outside the building to complete calls — leading to inefficiencies, lost opportunities, and frustration among both employees and clients. Given the competitive nature of the automotive sales industry, unreliable communication was not just an inconvenience — it was a barrier to delivering quality service and closing deals.

Physical Constraints

From a technical standpoint, the dealership’s interior presented several installation obstacles. The structure lacked traditional ceiling panels, which meant that routing cables overhead or mounting ceiling-based solutions like low-profile dome antennas was simply not feasible. In addition, there was limited accessible infrastructure for mounting larger outdoor antennas in optimal positions. These limitations ruled out several standard installation practices and required a creative, adaptive approach to both equipment placement and cable management.

Aesthetic Requirements

Like many modern dealerships, Chery Edenvale prioritizes a clean, stylish, and professional showroom appearance. Any visible cabling or bulky hardware installations would detract from the brand’s image and the client experience. This meant that the solution not only needed to be effective, but also subtle — blending seamlessly into the existing layout without drawing attention. This aesthetic consideration added another layer of complexity to the installation, demanding precision and discretion in every part of the design and execution process.

Solution

To overcome the site’s unique communication and installation challenges, Bolton Technical designed a customised signal boosting solution that delivered performance without compromising on aesthetics.

Equipment Installed

Dual Arrow donor antennas were mounted externally to capture the strongest available signal. These fed into WilsonPro A1000 signal boosters, chosen for their powerful amplification capabilities and ability to support multiple networks and users simultaneously.

Signal Distribution

Due to the lack of ceiling space, traditional antennas weren’t an option. Instead, four indoor panel antennas were installed back-to-back on custom metal brackets. This setup allowed for broad, dual-directional signal coverage — specifically targeted at high-traffic areas like sales desks and offices.

Cable Routing

With limited options for hiding cable runs, the team used creative routing techniques, integrating cables discreetly into existing structural lines and finishes. This ensured full functionality while preserving the dealership’s clean, professional look.

The Result

Dramatic Signal Improvement

Following the installation, the dealership experienced a significant boost in indoor cellular signal strength. Areas that were previously dead zones (within the red or no-signal range) were brought into the green zone, indicating strong, reliable signal across all major networks. Staff and visitors could now enjoy consistent mobile connectivity throughout the premises.

Enhanced Communication

Both incoming and outgoing calls became clear and stable, with dropped calls becoming a thing of the past. Staff no longer had to move around in search of signal or step outside to complete important conversations. This immediate improvement allowed the team to focus on what mattered most — serving clients and closing deals.

Operational Impact

Seamless communication dramatically improved the dealership’s efficiency. Sales staff could now follow up with leads, arrange test drives, and coordinate with clients in real-time without delay. The ability to maintain uninterrupted communication helped streamline internal operations and enhanced the customer experience, reinforcing Chery Edenvale’s commitment to professionalism and service excellence.
