Coverage And Results
The A500 kit provides cellular signal enhancement using an omni-directional desktop antenna that creates optimal "spot coverage" around the antenna. Coverage depends on your external signal strength.
| Outside Signal | Signal Strength (dB) | Spot Coverage Radius |
|---|---|---|
| Strong (4-5 Bars) | -70 to -85 dB | Up to 8m radius |
| Moderate (3 Bars) | -85 to -100 dB | Up to 5m radius |
| Weak (1-2 Bars) | -100 to -115 dB | Up to 3m radius |
| No Signal | Below -120 dB | No coverage |
Important: The omni-desktop antenna provides 360° coverage but works best when placed centrally in the area needing improvement. For whole-apartment coverage, consider our professional installation options with panel antennas.

Built Better. Backed Longer.
A warranty says a lot about the product behind it.
At Bolton Technical, we don’t believe a premium signal solution should only perform well on day one. It should be engineered for reliable, long-term performance — and backed accordingly.
That’s why our WilsonPro and weBoost home, office and vehicle signal booster kits are protected by an industry-leading 3-year manufacturer’s limited warranty.
It’s another part of The Bolton Standard: premium equipment, proven technology, realistic performance, South African compliance and local support from a team prepared to stand behind what we sell.
Why 3 Years Matters
Not all signal boosters are built to the same standard.
We carefully select professional-grade products from established global manufacturers with a proven track record in cellular connectivity. As the exclusive distributor of Wilson Connectivity products in Africa, Bolton Technical is backed by one of the world’s leading names in cellular signal enhancement.
Our 3-year warranty reflects the confidence we have in the equipment we supply.
Premium products. Proper support. Long-term peace of mind.
That is what we believe our customers should expect from Bolton Technical.
What Our 3-Year Warranty Covers
Bolton Technical provides a 3-year manufacturer’s limited warranty on qualifying home, office and vehicle signal booster kits sold by Bolton Technical in South Africa.
The warranty applies from the date of purchase or delivery, whichever is later, and covers defects in materials or workmanship during the warranty period.
If your product develops a fault and our technical team determines that the fault is the result of a manufacturing defect, Bolton Technical will, at our discretion:
-
Repair the faulty product or component; or
-
Replace the faulty product or component.
There will be no charge for the repair or replacement of an approved warranty claim.
Valid proof of purchase, such as your Bolton Technical invoice or receipt, will be required.
The cost of returning the product to Bolton Technical is for the customer’s account. Once an approved warranty repair or replacement has been completed, Bolton Technical will cover the cost of delivering the repaired or replacement product back to you within South Africa.
Protecting Your Equipment
Our signal booster systems are designed for years of reliable performance when installed and used correctly.
To keep your equipment protected and your warranty valid, please ensure that the system is installed according to the supplied instructions and that suitable surge protection is used.
A surge-protected power supply with a minimum rating of 1,000 joules is required. Damage caused by electrical surges or operating the product without suitable surge protection may not be covered by the warranty.
For larger or more complex installations, our team can also assist with professional installation and technical guidance.
What the Warranty Does Not Cover
The manufacturer’s warranty does not cover faults or damage caused by:
-
Misuse, abuse or neglect
-
Accidents or physical damage
-
Incorrect or improper installation
-
Unauthorised repairs, modifications or alterations
-
Electrical surges where suitable surge protection was not used
-
Normal wear and tear
-
Cosmetic damage that does not affect product operation
-
Removal, alteration or tampering with the original serial number
-
Products purchased through unauthorised resellers or imported through unofficial or grey-market channels
The warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is not transferable.

3-Year Manufacturer’s Warranty
Qualifying weBoost and WilsonPro cellular signal booster products supplied by Bolton Technical are backed by a 3-year manufacturer’s limited warranty.
If your unit develops a fault or no longer performs to its usual standard during the warranty period, please contact us. Our team will assist with troubleshooting and, where necessary, arrange for the product to be assessed.
The warranty covers qualifying defects in materials and workmanship affecting the signal booster or cellular amplifier.
Following assessment, an eligible product may be repaired or replaced, as appropriate.
We’re not here for a once-off sale. We’re here to support you throughout the life of your system.
30-Day Money-Back Guarantee
We understand that a cellular signal booster is an important purchase.
That’s why qualifying cellular signal booster products purchased from Bolton Technical are covered by a 30-day money-back guarantee from the date you receive your order.
This guarantee also applies to products purchased during a promotion or sale. Buying at a promotional price does not mean receiving a lower standard of service.
If you would like to arrange a return, contact us and we will provide you with an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorisation) and guide you through the process.

Return Requirements
To help us process your return as quickly as possible:
-
Products should be returned in their original condition and must not have been modified or altered.
-
Original packaging should be included, together with proof of purchase.
-
All components and accessories originally supplied with the product or kit must be returned.
-
Where an amplifier is being returned for testing, repair or replacement, the complete kit may be required so that our technical team can properly assess the system.
-
The customer is responsible for the cost of returning the product to Bolton Technical unless otherwise agreed.
-
Original express, priority or premium delivery charges are non-refundable.
-
A handling fee may apply where a product is returned incomplete, damaged, or without its original packaging, and this affects our ability to resell or process the returned product.
Warranty Repairs and Replacements
If a product is returned for a warranty assessment, our technical team or the manufacturer may inspect and test the product to determine the cause of the fault.
Where the fault qualifies under the warranty, the product may be repaired or replaced, depending on the nature of the issue and the appropriate remedy.
Once an approved warranty repair or replacement has been completed, the product will be returned to the customer at no additional standard delivery cost.
Warranty Exclusions
The manufacturer’s warranty covers qualifying defects in materials and workmanship.
It may not apply where a product has been damaged or its electronic or physical condition has been affected by circumstances such as:
-
Misuse or neglect
-
Mishandling or accidental damage
-
Unauthorised modification or alteration
-
Incorrect installation
-
Improper use
-
Physical damage
-
Electrical or surge damage outside the scope of the manufacturer’s warranty
-
Damage caused by circumstances unrelated to a manufacturing or workmanship defect
If you are unsure whether an issue may be covered, please contact us. We would rather assess the problem and help you determine the next step.
Surge Protection
Correct surge protection is important for protecting your equipment.
Where applicable, the supplied RF lightning surge protector should be correctly installed and grounded to help protect the outdoor antenna side of the system.
A separate AC mains surge protector rated at a minimum of 1,000 joules is also required to help protect the amplifier against electrical power surges and maintain warranty protection.
The RF surge protector and AC mains surge protector protect against different surge paths and one does not replace the other.
Products Purchased on Promotion
Products purchased during a Bolton Technical promotion or sale are treated in the same way as standard-price purchases for the purposes of our 30-day money-back guarantee, subject to the return requirements outlined above.
Our product standards and customer support do not change because an item was purchased on promotion.
How to Arrange a Return
To start a return, warranty assessment or exchange, please contact Bolton Technical before sending the product back.
We will provide you with an RMA number and the relevant return instructions.
Telephone: 011 749 3085 or 021 879 3057
Email: sales@boltontechnical.co.za
Please do not send products back without first obtaining an RMA, as this may delay processing.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between the A500 and A1000?
The WilsonPro A500 is a great fit for homes in urban or suburban areas where there’s fair outdoor signal—it’s designed to cover 1–2 rooms effectively. It’s perfect for boosting signal in spaces like home offices, bedrooms, or lounges.
The WilsonPro A1000 is a more powerful system designed for homes with poor outdoor signal and/or those located farther from cell towers. It can cover up to 4 rooms and is better suited for areas where signal is weak or inconsistent.
Here’s where the power difference comes in:
A500 offers up to 70 dB of gain, while the A1000 offers up to 74 dB.
4 dB increase represents nearly 2.5 times more signal amplification power, which can make a substantial difference in low-signal environments.
In addition to gain, there’s also a difference in amplifier output power:
A500 has lower uplink and downlink power, meaning it can’t reach as far to connect with distant towers or push strong signal through larger or more signal-blocking structures.
A1000 offers higher uplink/downlink output, enabling it to communicate more effectively with distant cell towers and push stronger signal indoors over a wider area.
So, if you’re in an area with weaker outdoor signal, or your home is constructed with materials that block signal, the A1000 is the more capable and future-proof option.
How big of an area does it cover?
The A500 Apartment Kit offers spot coverage within a few metres of the included Omni-Desktop Antenna. Depending on your outside signal strength, it can cover up to 3–6 metres in radius, ideal for single rooms or one or two devices used near a desk or table.
Can I install it myself?
Yes. The kit is designed for DIY installation, making it easy to set up without any special tools or technical expertise. Simply mount the outdoor antenna where you get the strongest signal and connect the system using the included cables and accessories.
Which networks does it support?
The A500 works with all South African mobile networks, including Vodacom, MTN, Cell C, and Telkom. It supports voice and data on 2G, 3G, 4G/LTE, and most 5G NSA frequencies.
What’s the warranty and return policy?
The A500 comes with a 2-year warranty and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Can the WilsonPro A500 be upgraded for more coverage?
Yes. While the A500 Apartment Kit is designed for spot coverage, you can upgrade the indoor antenna to a panel or dome antenna for wider indoor coverage. This requires professional mounting and may be better suited for larger spaces.
How strong does my outside signal need to be for the A500 Kit to work?
The A500 works best when your outdoor signal strength is at least –100 dB or better. You can check this using Field Test Mode on your phone. The stronger the outdoor signal, the more effective the system will be indoors.
Does it work during load shedding?
Yes! The A500 runs on a 5V/3A power supply and can operate with a UPS or an inverter. However, if local cell towers lose power, the booster can’t amplify a non-existent signal.
What if I need help?
We’re based in South Africa and offer local support and stock. You can reach our friendly team by phone, email, or live chat – we’re here to help you stay connected.
