Coverage And Results

The Yagi antenna is designed to pick up signal from cell towers up to 5 km away, depending on terrain and line-of-sight conditions. It delivers a concentrated, directional signal with a 45° horizontal beamwidth, ensuring efficient reception from a targeted direction. When paired with a signal booster, the Yagi helps distribute signal indoors over a general range of several metres - ideal for improving coverage in homes, small offices, remote buildings, and other fixed locations.

Product Information For Wideband Outdoor Yagi Directional Antenna, 50 Ohm, 140 PIM

Yagi Directional Antenna – Unlock Stronger, Faster Cellular Signal Where It Counts

Struggling with slow or spotty cellular reception? Our high-performance Yagi directional antenna is designed to cut through the noise and deliver a powerful, focused signal boost — perfect for South African homes, lodges, farms, offices, and commercial properties where reliable connectivity is essential.

Why choose a Yagi? Unlike omnidirectional antennas that pick up signal from all around, the Yagi’s narrow 45-degree beam acts like a torchlight, honing in precisely on the nearest cellular tower. This focused approach provides a significant gain of up to 11 dBi, capturing a stronger, cleaner signal at the source and dramatically improving your cellular booster or hotspot’s performance. This focused reception means better data speeds, fewer dropped calls, and improved voice quality — even in remote or fringe areas where signal is traditionally weak or unreliable.

Key benefits: The Yagi’s directional design enables it to pull in signal from much farther away than omni antennas, ideal for rural areas and locations with obstructed line-of-sight. Enjoy faster downloads, clearer calls, and more reliable connections when your antenna is correctly aligned with the cell tower.Designed for fixed outdoor installations, this antenna stands up to sun, wind, and rain — perfect for the varied climates across the country.Works seamlessly with all major 50-ohm cellular signal boosters (weBoost, SureCall, Cel-Fi, and others) as well as cellular hotspots and routers (Pepwave, MoFi, Netgear Nighthawk, etc.).

Installation note: While it requires precise aiming to maximize its performance, the effort is worthwhile. Pointing the Yagi correctly unlocks the full strength of your cellular signal, especially in challenging environments where omnidirectional antennas fall short. If you’re serious about boosting your cellular signal and cutting out frustration, the Yagi directional antenna is a proven, trusted choice across South Africa’s varied landscapes - from urban fringes to remote farmsteads.

Product FAQ

1 When Should I Buy the Yagi?

The Yagi sits in a sweet spot for most South African homes, small businesses, and farms looking to improve their cellular signal. It offers higher gain than our omni-directional All-Rounder, but slightly less than the high-powered Arrow or Long Ranger. If you’ve got moderate-to-weak signal outdoors but aren’t kilometres away from the nearest tower, the Yagi is your go-to.

It’s especially popular with those looking to boost Vodacom, MTN, Cell C or Telkom LTE signals with a signal booster or a fixed wireless LTE/5G router. It’s directional—so you’ll get the best results when it’s aimed at the closest cell tower.

⚠️ The Yagi is a 50 Ohm antenna with an N-Female connector. Make sure your setup includes 50 Ohm coaxial cable with an N-Male termination.

2 What Kind of Signal Does the Yagi Capture?

The Yagi is wideband and works across 698–2700 MHz, which covers all 2G, 3G, 4G/LTE, and even some low-band 5G frequencies used in South Africa. That includes:

Vodacom: LTE 900 / 1800 / 2100 MHz

MTN: LTE 1800 / 2100 / 2600 MHz

Cell C: LTE 900 / 2100 MHz

Telkom: LTE 1800 / 2300 MHz

If your network operates in that range (which almost all do), the Yagi will do the job.

3 What Does dB Mean? What About Gain?

dB, or decibels, refers to how much an antenna strengthens (or "gains") a signal. Because dB is measured on a logarithmic scale, every +3 dB basically doubles the power. So, a 10 dB Yagi gives you significantly more signal than an omni antenna, especially when aimed precisely.

4 Will the Yagi Work with My Network?

Absolutely. Whether you're on Vodacom, MTN, Cell C, or Telkom, the Yagi will work - as long as your signal is within the 698–2700 MHz range (and it almost always is). It’s network-agnostic, meaning you can switch providers and still use the same antenna.

5 Can I Boost Multiple Networks at Once?

Yes - but there’s a catch. Since the Yagi is directional, it performs best when aimed directly at a single tower. If all the networks you care about (say Vodacom and MTN) are broadcasting from the same tower, then you’re in luck. If they’re coming from different towers, you’ll need to: pick one to prioritise, or install multiple antennas (one for each direction) and combine them using a signal combiner.
